This transcription factor functions in heart formation and development. Mutations in this gene cause atrial septal defect with atrioventricular conduction defect, and also tetralogy of Fallot, which are both heart malformation diseases. Mutations in this gene can also cause congenital hypothyroidism non-goitrous type 5, a non-autoimmune condition. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants.

| Nkx2.5 Antibody (PA5-19138) in WBWestern Blot staining of Human Heart lysate using Product # PA5-19138 at a concentration of 0.3 µg/mL, the primary antibody incubation was 1 hour and the detection method was chemiluminescence.Nkx2.5 Antibody (PA5-19138) in IFImmunofluorescence analysis of Nkx2.5 in U2OS cells using a Nkx2.5 monoclonal antibody (Product # PA5-19138) at 5 µg/mL for1hr. The cells were paraformaldehyde fixed and permeabilized with 0.15% Triton. Primary incubation was followed by Alexa Fluor 488 secondary antibody (2 µg/mL) showing nuclear and cytoplasmic staining. The nuclear stain is DAPI (blue). Negative control: Unimmunized goat IgG (5 µg/mL)followed by Alexa Fluor 488 secondary antibody (2 µg/mL). |
