| Quasar® 705 is an indocarbocyanine that fluoresces in the near IR region of the spectrum. This compound is a direct replacement for Cy™5.5. Quasar 705 CPG is used for the 3' labeling of fluorogenic probes used in 5' nuclease assays and other detection assays. The Quasar 705 moiety is linked to the 500 Å CPG through a glycolate spacer. BHQ®-2 or BHQ-3 will quench the Quasar 705 moiety. |

Synthesis conditions:Follow the instrument manufacturer's protocol, with noted changes, when using this product. We suggest using fast deprotecting amidites with this support.Cleavage conditions:Use concentrated ammonia for 45 minutes at 25° C.Deprotection conditions:When using fast deprotecting amidites (eg. C-Ac, G-DMF) use concentrated ammonia for 5 hours at 25°C or 1-2 hours at 60 °C. Some degradation of the Quasar dye may occur. The use of methylamine should be avoided.Dye conjugates are light sensitive and must be protected from unnecessary exposure.
