| Collagen is located in the extracellular matrix of connective tissues. It is part of the interacting network of proteoglycans and proteins that provides a structural framework for both soft and calcified connective tissues. Type I collagen (95 kDa) is found in bone, cornea, skin and tendon. Mutations in the encoding gene are associated with osteogenesis imperfecta, Ehlers Danlos syndrome, and idiopathic osteoporosis. |

Sandwich ELISA analysis of human ferritin using Mouse anti Human collagen I/II/III antibody, clone NLI/22 (2150-2203) as a capture reagent and biotinylated Mouse anti Human collagen I antibody, (131008) as a detection reagent with native human collagen (2150-0030) as antigen. Detection is by HRP conjugated streptavidin and substrate. Microtitre plate is read at O.D. 450 nm on the Bio-Rad iMark Microplate Absorbance Reader (Bio-Rad Catalog 168-1135). Normal serum (green) and plasma (orange) samples are included diluted 1:4. |
