| Rabbit anti Human BMP-6 antibodyrecognizes BMP-6, also known as bone morphogenetic protein 6, VG-1-related protein, VGR-1, vegetal related growth factor (TGFB-related) and vegetal-related (TGFB related) cytokine.The bone morphogenetic proteins (BMPs) are a family of secreted signaling molecules that can induce ectopic bone growth. Many BMPs are part of the transforming growth factor-beta (TGFB) superfamily. BMPs were originally identified by the ability of a demineralized bone extract to induce endochondral osteogenesis in vivo at an extraskeletal site. Based on its expression early in embryogenesis, the protein encoded by the BMP6 gene has a proposed role in early development. In addition, the fact that BMP-6 is closely related to BMP-5 and BMP-7 has led to speculation of possible bone inductive activity (provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008).Rabbit anti Human BMP-6 antibody detects a band of 55-65 kDa. The antibody has been extensively validated for western blotting using whole cell lysates. |
