| Mouse anti Human cytokeratin 18 antibodyrecognizes cytokeratin-18, also known as keratin, type I cytoskeletal 18, CK-18, cell proliferation-inducing gene 46 protein, cell proliferation-inducing protein 46, keratin, type I cytoskeletal 18 and keratin-18.Encoded by the KRT18 gene cytokeratin 18, together with its filament partner cytokeratin 8, are perhaps the most commonly found members of the intermediate filament gene family. They are expressed in single layer epithelial tissues of the body. Mutations in KRT18 have been linked to cryptogenic cirrhosis. Two transcript variants encoding the same protein have been found for KRT18 (provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008).Mouse anti Human cytokeratin 18 antibody detects a band of 46 kDa. The antibody has been extensively validated for western blotting using whole cell lysates. |
